2009-2010 Student Handbook

WELCOME!

Dear students,

Welcome to Jefferson College of Health Sciences. We are so pleased you have chosen JCHS. We know you have many educational choices and we appreciate your confidence in us. You will be aided in your educational journey by excellent faculty and staff to provide you with a quality educational experience. Enjoy the trip!

Jefferson College of Health Sciences’ 2009-2010 Student Handbook
has been prepared to help you become familiar with the resources and opportunities available to you as a student as well as the policies that govern your privileges and responsibilities as a member of the College community. This Handbook is a document that will provide you with answers to the most commonly posed questions from new and returning students. It is intended to supplement, rather than supersede, any information in the
Jefferson College of Health Sciences’ Catalog. We welcome any suggestions for this Handbook. Please refer any input to the Dean for Student Affairs.

While attending Jefferson College of Health Sciences (also listed as “the College” in this publication), you will encounter many challenges. Many people at the College are available to help you. While the ultimate outcome of your education is up to you, please do not hesitate to ask for assistance necessary to help you reach your goals.

In an effort to provide you with a positive environment, the College has identified guidelines, policies and procedures that address our expectations of students as members of the JCHS community. This Handbook serves as a resource for this information, including students’ rights and responsibilities.

We ask you to join all the College faculty and staff in helping maintain a safe and positive learning environment by assuming responsibility for your behavior and upholding the standards identified in the 2009-2010 Student Handbook.

Again, welcome to the College.

Sincerely,

Carol Seavor, R.N., Ed.D.

President
