Residence Life at Jefferson College of Health Sciences
Welcome! We are pleased that you are interested in joining (or have already joined) the student population in the Patrick Henry residence hall located in downtown Roanoke, Virginia. Jefferson College of Health Sciences aims to provide a convenient, coeducational residence hall for students who want the developmental benefits of College housing. We are committed to creating an environment that is safe and conducive to study. Every effort is made to ensure that the residence hall also provides a relaxed atmosphere that fosters friendships, learning, and social interaction.
Why Live in the Residence Hall?
One of the benefits for students who choose to live on campus is an enhanced overall collegiate experience. Residence halls can help students to develop social connections with other students who are dealing with similar successes and challenges, both inside and outside of the classroom. Additionally, research has shown that there are other advantages to living on campus including better academic performance, a higher level of engagement in the larger campus community, lessened participation in risky behaviors such as underage drinking, and stronger persistence toward degree completion (Pascarella and Terenzini, 2005).
